GUERRA: "I KNEW I WAS IN SHOOTING RANGE"
The goalscorer talks about his winner against Sevilla FC
Javi Guerra spoke to VCF Media after the match against Sevilla FC, in which he scored the winning goal.
AN IMPORTANT VICTORY
“I'm happy with the three points and, above all, with getting them here at Mestalla in front of our fans, who we know are important. But we have to keep going.”
TEAM WIN
“It was a tough game. They put us under pressure. We also have to be able to win these types of games, which are more difficult for us in terms of how we play. I'm happy with the three points, with continuing to pick up points, and I'm already thinking about the next game.”
HIS GOAL
“I cut inside and slipped, but I knew I was in shooting range, and luckily it went in. I'm very happy with the three points.”
HIS SPECIAL DEDICATION
“Just yesterday, my uncle had surgery. We had a video call with my aunt and him, and we agreed that if I scored, I would make a gesture with my fingers to show my support for him after the surgery. I'm sending him all my support and I hope he recovers soon.”
THE GROWTH OF THE TEAM
"The team have reacted well, and we need to understand where we're coming from, how badly the times we've been through are, and our mentality needs to be to keep going, take it game by game, and try to get as many points as possible."
MESTALLA
"We know how important Mestalla is; we're very strong here. In the final minutes, we saw that these were moments where we were having a bit of a tough time, and Mestalla put pressure on the opposing team and supported us so we could hold on to the result and get the three points."
